If you observe a little closer, you would know that your life is dependent on electricity. Your stove, your heater, air conditioner, phone charger, INTERNET, and so much more depends on electricity. Basically, the most important aspects of your life are relying on the use of electricity.

In fact, it is quite hard to imagine a world without electricity. But the recent pandemic COVID-19 might have open your eyes! It might shift your perspective to the extent that you could possibly think of a world with no electricity. However, fear not! Your forefathers were living in a different time zone. There had been people in the past who had survived without electricity. So, it is pretty much possible! Just learn.

  • You can go camping with your friends (when the pandemic is over)
  • You can practice at home right now during the quarantine
  • You can layout a hypothetical plan to see how it looks on a piece of paper

Learn Cooking

It is important to know basic life skills. Cooking is important! You should have some knowledge of cooking. If you have never thought of it before, it is the best time to learn cooking.

Make sure you are going through the basics! There are many online tutorials that you can see or go through tons of articles to get knowledge about cooking. You might be planning not eating out every day! You never knew pandemic is the answer! Learn to cook before it’s too late. It is a basic life skill that everyone should know. You must not depend on anyone to cook for you.

Acquire Some Smart Skills

It is important to learn some smart skills. Now that you might have some time, it is a good idea to rewind and remember the things you were taught as a child! Or you might saw in the movies and was fascinated, such as:

  • Learn about directions. For example, if you have to go somewhere without relying on GPS what you would do.
  • Learn first-aid skills. With medical emergency around the world, it would be tough to find a doctor if you need stitches. Learn the basics.

There are so many skills that you can learn! The best thing about modern times is that it can help you learn anything as all you have to do is search for the right information! You can take help from Google or YouTube to find relevant information. On YouTube, you can learn things by watching the tutorials.

Get Non-perishable Items

It is important to collect essential food items. If you have kids in the house, then it is even more important.

  • Get the items with a greater shelf life.
  • Make sure you check the ingredients.

You can check the list of different items by doing a small search on Google. Simply write the non-perishable items and it would be best to place an online order at this point. If you are allergic or want to make sure it’s kosher, do check the ingredients as mentioned previously. Now is not the time to activate your allergies! There is already so much going on for the doctors.

Get Water

You have to get clean water for drinking. It’s not possible to survive without water, which is why you should have water with you. But it doesn’t mean that you go on hoarding water for life just like what people did for toilet paper, remember?

No matter what, it is important to understand that you are first a human and then anything else! Show humanity and kindness. Let everyone get the same items. It is important to be considerate. After all, all of us belong to the same planet, right!

Learn Swimming

Another important life skill is swimming. Not everyone can be a great swimmer and if you have no idea how to swim, maybe it is the right time to learn swimming. But for now, rely on tutorials and maintain your social distance.

It is possible to learn a variety of things just from the comfort of your home. While some of the things like swimming require practice, you can just watch the videos and visualize the skills! When the time is right and you are ready, then it would be best to go for the lessons out in the public.

Get The Essentials

Since you have to stay at home and avoid exposure as much as you can, it is best to get the essentials. For example, you can have items like:

  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • First aid kit
  • Sanitary napkins
  • Pampers
  • Baby food
  • And other such things!

Based on your family size and budget, you have to do the shopping but grocery and pharmacy are open so no need to panic. All you have to do is be sane and don’t lose your cool! You have to maintain your temper. It is easy to feel anxious about what is going on around the world, but it is better to relax and take a deep breath. If something is beyond your control, then you shouldn’t panic. Just follow the guidelines by WHO and doctors.

Basically, to survive you have to be the fittest. Make sure you are doing regular exercise, getting the essential items, and not creating panic around the world, you can survive! Now is the time to prove your worth to the World. Best is to stay at home and count the days when all of this would be over and you can finally sit on the beach with your laptop or book in your hand! Or maybe sipping your favorite coffee with your favorite people.
